03
When do I get details about my booked trip?
You will receive a trip confirmation email immediately after booking. All hunting trip details can be expected to hit your inbox 30 days prior to arrival. The daily trip schedule and exact location details will be sent approximately one week prior to your trip. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with questions at support@birddogit.com.
04
Do I need a license in order to hunt?
While this ranch uses MLDP tags, all hunters (residents and non-residents) are required to have a valid Texas hunting license to hunt whitetail deer. If you were born after September 2, 1971, you do need to have completed a hunter education course. If you've already completed an online hunter course, this requirement should be met. Please make sure you carry proof of completion with you.
05
How many days do I get to hunt?
You get 4x half-day hunts. This ranch has a strong population of whitetail deer and you will likely see several shooters per outing. If you would like to extend your stay into Monday or even Tuesday, this is an option.
06
What do I bring with me on my trip?
You should bring your rifle (.270 or larger) that you are most comfortable with shooting, 1 - 2 boxes of ammo, your valid TX hunting license, hunting clothing, boots, clothes to wear around the lodge, toiletries, and any medication.
07
What happens if I wound a deer?
If there is blood on the ground, or if your guide determines that you have wounded a deer, that deer is considered killed and billed in full. Our guides will work hard to locate the deer, and will likely find the deer within a few days of the initial contact. Although the meat will most likely be spoiled, you will still have the mount.
08
How does the meat processing / taxidermy work?
Included in your trophy fee is prepping your animal for taxidermy and meat processing. This means capeing out the head (for shoulder mount if desired), and quartering out the meat (pulling all the usable meat off the carcas), and placing the meat in the cooler. Ranch can handle transport to their recommended taxidermist and processor or you can take with you upon departure.
09
How does the payment work?
Your ticket price includes 2x nights lodging, all meals and drinks, alcohol, guides, live music, and a trophy buck up to 150". Any deer harvested over 150" will be an additional cost per the trophy fee list provided here: https://www.birddogit.com/experience/whitetail-hunting and at time of arrival. Settle up will happen after successful harvest or on the last morning prior to departure.
